Palo Santo, meaning "Holy Wood", is a tree that grows on the coast of South America. Because it is considered a sacred tree, it is sustainably harvested using only fallen parts of the tree. It is related to Frankincense, Myrrh and Copal. It is part of citrus family and has earthy yet sweet notes of pine, mint, and lemon. It is often used for smudging as you would with Sage or Cedar because of its purifying and cleansing properties.
